The Lilly Kinsale manufacturing operation is located in Dunderrow, close to the historic and
scenic town of Kinsale, Co Cork. The mission of the Kinsale facility is to support the commercialisation, manufacture and supply of many of the newest medicines in Lilly's portfolio. Production of medicines commenced in Kinsale in 1981 and today the manufacturing campus in Kinsale employs around 1,200 people and uses chemical and peptide synthesis, and biotechnology manufacturing processes to make active ingredients for medicines across all therapeutic areas referenced above. The site also works in close partnership with the Lilly global research and development function in the areas of process development and optimisation across all three manufacturing platforms.
Brief Summary of Role
The Student Placement provides administrative support to the plant TS/MS team and wider process teams. The LM Technical Services and Manufacturing Science Group (TS/MS) are responsible for providing technical support for existing manufacturing processes as well as support for commercialization and technology transfer of new processes into the Operations/Manufacturing Environment. The student will actively work in the manufacturing plant as required. During The placement the student will be exposed to a variety of roles and functions while working as part of a cross functional team. These may include but are not limited to online Operational Support, Process Safety, Quality, Regulatory, Deviation Management and Investigation and Project Work. Working alongside the plant-based TS/MS Team will enable the student to employ their existing knowledge and to expand it further. Students will also participate in training, field tours, volunteer activities and networking events that will enhance their learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support TS/MS plant-based scientists in their day to day activities
• Support technical studies that advance manufacturing operations and strategic network initiatives.
• Work within cross-functional teams to deliver project objectives and timelines.
• Adhere to all safety, quality and compliance requirements.
• Undertake additional project and laboratory activities as directed by supervising staff.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written English language skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Some base knowledge of FDA cGMPs and other applicable regulations
