Scope of Responsibility:
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to provide support to our organisation's central services in Dublin. Depaul is a values-led organisation working with a number of services throughout ROI and NI. This role will report directly to a Project Group Manager and will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day local management of service delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to join a diverse team of talented individuals.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
GENERAL MANAGEMENT
The Deputy Manager will support the Project group Manager in the efficient, effective management of two residential projects along with floating support in the community. The Deputy Manager will work within the principle of trauma informed practice.
In conjunction with the Project Group Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of two residential and floating support services in the community, providing care and support to service users, managing a robust and dynamic team and liaising with our partner agency.
STAFF
Responsible for provision of staff support, supervision, training and manage staff performance through probation, JARS and supervision
Supporting staff that will be lone working
SERVICE DELIVERY
To manage all service user processes (adequate key working, support plans, referral, resettlement, life skills etc.) through the team
To manage the staff rota and ensure adequate coverfor project
To oversee interagency work and communications withour partner agency
OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT
In conjunction with the LMT, ensure service policiesand procedures are established and operating correctly
and communicated to teams
Working operationally onsite across two servicesweekly
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Responsible together with the PGM for ensuring theproject operates as defined by the Health and Safety
Statement.
Ensuring all staff understand the expectations of theirrole in relation to health and safety and good practice.
Oversee all risk assessments related to the service andservice user, and to sign off on the same.
CONTRIBUTION TO BROADER ORGANISATIONALOBJECTIVES
Contribute to broader organisational objectives throughattendance at meetings, steering groups,
representation as required and contribute to theimprovement of quality, training, Service user
involvement and other aspects of service quality asrequired
THE BUILDING
Responsible for; overseeing building maintenance,ensuring that repairs are attended to and ensuringhealth & safety standards relating to the building are managed
FINANCE
Be involved in the financial planning of both services,manage project budgets, service charge and petty cash
along with PGM
To prepare monthly payroll and ensure cash procedures are followed.
FUNDRAISING & COMMUNICATIONS
Facilitate the requirements of F &C team and liaise withproject staff as required.
TEAM WORKING
Develop/manage an operational and well-functioningstaff team and ensure team meetings & required role
specific meetings are undertaken.
Along with the PGM- To help develop, review andparticipate in the planning and delivery of staff team
days and review days as required
ADMINISTRATION
Ensure accurate data management
Ensure effective systems are in place to allow forefficient recording and administration.
Highly skilled in report writing
ON CALL
Participate in on-call rota
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that all Depaul policies and procedures arebeing adhered to and to contribute to the effective

Person Requirements:
2 year's paid experience working in Mental Health Services or in Criminal Justice Sector, desirably in a residential setting. Ideally experience of working with service users with enduring mental health problems, learning disabilities and/ or offending histories
Social Studies/Case Management Accredited Qualification
An understanding of enduring mental health issues and the impact it has on the individual
Good working knowledge of risk assessment processes and systems (i.e. S/U Risk assessment, Lone Working, Activity Risk Assessments)
Be able to manage a team with a trauma informed care perspective/ practice.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
An understanding of the key issues relating to managing a residential setting. Ability to use initiative, apply sound decision-making skills, including the ability to act calmly in emergencies and respond in a professional manner to challenging and stressful situations.Ability to motivate staff in the provision of services to homeless people, as well as an ability to work closely with and support volunteer workers.
An ability to ensure that Health and Safety procedures are adhered to and to contribute to the development of health and safety practises within the project.
Ability to manage service users, with complex needs and challenging behaviours
