ThisSupport Worker-Graduate Programmeposition offers a fantastic opportunity to grow your professional skills andmake a difference. TheSupport Worker will be a member of a multi-disciplined teamusing holistic approaches to support Depaul service users.Working within the principal of harm reduction where residents receive a high degree of care,supportand dignity, Depaul has acommitment to service user participation and to empowering residents to manage their own lives.

This role works across a 7-dayweek rota.

At the end of the twelve-monthprogramme graduates will be able to:

  • To work as a member of a multi-disciplined team in the best interests of the residents and report to team
  • To encourage and support service users to develop skills in managing their daily living.
  • Attend andparticipatein key worker sessions with service users whenrequired
  • Provide an end of year presentation on time in Services.

Key Area of Responsibility

  • To encourage and support service users to develop skills in managing their daily living.
  • In conjunction with residents and the rest of the team to ensure that the service is kept to a good standard of tidiness, cleanliness and hygiene including communal areas
  • Encouraging service users to take responsibility formaintainingtheir own environment.
  • Observe and attend key worker sessions with service users whenrequired
  • In conjunctionwith the projectteam, toassistresidents with personal monies, service charge payments, etc. where necessary.
  • Carry out project administration tasks such as upkeep of petty cash, project statistics, invoices, record keeping, Service User's files, OTIS,IRand AR completion etc.
  • To ensure that Health and Safety standards are met within the projectin accordance withDepaul's Health and Safety policy and the project's Safety Statement.
  • To attend andparticipatein team meetings and staff team days.
  • Toparticipatein ongoing graduate programmes and events

Personal Experience and Requirements

  • Qualification in the Social Care field- Social Care, Psychology, Social Science, Criminology or Community Development
  • Process an understanding of why people become homeless and the issues they present with, understanding what supports can be offered in homeless services to service users with complex support needs
  • Be a good communicator and computer literate
  • Knowledge and understanding of Depaul vision mission and values.
  • Ability to work shifts
  • Relevant experience within the Community and Voluntary sector

Desirable

  • Driving Licence
