Intern - Strategic Sourcing

Duration: 5/6 months

Salary: €30,500

Location: Lilly GBS, Little Island Cork

Type: Hybrid role requiring the successful candidate to be on site 50% of the month in Little Island, Cork and 50% working remotely.

Course Eligibility: Bsc Commerce, Business or accounting.

The Role:

The Intern - Procurement Sourcing will work within the IBU Strategic Sourcing Procurement Team. Supporting the team's development, creation & execution of International Category strategies for assigned areas of spend

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the strategic sourcing procurement team to develop/execute category strategies for assigned areas of spend
  • Share learnings with other team members in the strategic sourcing team during specific weekly brainstorming sessions
  • Support our International Business Unit sourcing owners for assigned categories within IBU Procurement organisation.
  • Promote supplier relationships in conjunction with business areas.
  • Support with guidance the internal sourcing/tendering process (RFP'S / RFI'S), utilising Ariba tools.
  • Partner with colleagues in global procurement


Additional Skills:

  • Ability to interpret and evaluate multiple source information and make recommendations
  • Able to communicate effectively, develop strong relationships at all levels cross-functionally, both internally and externally
  • Commercially aware with a proactive, energetic, can-do attitude
  • Ability to support the team's current projects and internal customer groups
  • Self-motivated, able to pro-actively seek and prioritise opportunities


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in International Business / Business / Commerce / Accounting being pursued
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English. Additional languages capability would be advantageous
  • Familiarity with Procurement / Supply Chain / Business
  • Good IT literacy with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience working in teams
