Are you an experienced Manager or someone who would like to take the next step in their career and would be interested in an exciting opportunity to manage the operational teams for our Dublin Branch?

You will be responsible for the delivery of all freight operations with particular attention and full autonomy on workflow, tasks and data integrity to support the Branch Performance Metrics. A keen focus on driving both operational excellence and quality will be the underlying driver to success.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure smooth running of operations through the effective management of the team.


  • Obtain competitive rates for quotations.


  • Ensure effective and efficient use of CargoWise.


  • Ensure compliance with regulations by remaining up to date on freight forwarding and customs regulations.


  • Lead OIA Global Aviation Security & GDP Accreditation.


  • Be aware of potential customers and look for opportunities to develop the business.


  • Maintain awareness of forwarding and logistics markets - including potential new investments, key customers and competition.


  • Maintain & develop existing business relationships.


  • Ensure effective negotiation on prices to maximize profitability


  • Provide effective and constant communications with customers.


  • Be proactive when faced with problems.


  • Ensure team activities reflect your high level of customer service.


  • Maintain strong financial disciplines, ensuring that the team understand and comply.


  • Work in line with finance requirements, including the month-end procedures.


  • Liaise/support with the Finance department on CODs, aged debt and query escalation.


  • Be responsible for the overall performance of the Operations Team.


  • Coach, develop and motivate the team on operational tasks, ensuring they have the knowledge to complete their duties.


What we need from you:

  • Previous experience working in a supervisory capacity within freight forwarding is essential


  • Demonstrate the ability to build effective relationships internally and externally with suppliers, customers, agents and colleagues


  • Manage and motivate staff effectively whilst ensuring operational excellence and outstanding service delivery at all times


  • Display admiral leadership qualities and demonstrate a strong team work ethic


  • Eligibility to work in the country in which you will be employed is essential
