We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join the technology team in our Dublin office. The successful candidate will be involved in technically challenging global service design, deployment and management across our cloud platform products.
Profile
You will be a senior Systems/Platform Engineer with strong experience in Azure, automation, and modern platform engineering practices. In this role, you will help technology teams design, build, and operate our SaaS platform products in the cloud. Acting as a Subject Matter Expert, you will establish and maintain a scalable, secure, and standardised platform to ensure best practices are consistently followed. You will be comfortable taking responsibility for a mix of large and small initiatives, implementing and supporting enterprise-grade solutions in an Azure environment. You will be directly responsible for building, automating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving our platform services, while developing and managing the tooling and frameworks that enable reliable, repeatable deployments. You will have hands-on experience with a broad range of Azure technologies, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and application environments (e.g., web/app tier platforms, databases), with a strong emphasis on platform reliability, security, and DevOps enablement.
Core Responsibilities
• Design, build, and operate Azure-based platform services, ensuring availability, performance, scalability, and security
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to support application and platform delivery
• Provide pre-production support and platform validation to ensure quality and reliability
• Support integrations with internal systems and third-party technology partners
• Perform system troubleshooting and root cause analysis across platform and application layers
• Drive platform standardisation, reusable components, and engineering best practices
• Evaluate new technologies and contribute to platform roadmap and innovation
• Ensure strong implementation of cloud security controls, identity, and access management
• Identify and implement platform reliability, cost optimisation, and performance improvements
• Provide mentorship and guidance to more junior members of the team
• Provide expert cloud and platform guidance to development teams
Skills required
• Azure: 3+ years' experience working with a broad range of Microsoft Azure services (e.g., Azure VMs, App Services, Azure Container Apps (ACA), Azure SQL, Storage, VNet, Azure AD/Entra ID, Key Vault, Monitor, Log Analytics) with a focus on secure cloud architecture
• Platform Engineering / DevOps: Strong experience in building and operating platforms in a 24x7 environment, including automation and self-service capabilities
• Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
• CI/CD: Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tooling
• Scripting: Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.)
• Operating Systems: Windows and Linux system administration
• Monitoring & Observability: Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or other observability tools
• Problem Solving: Ability to analyse and resolve complex infrastructure and deployment issues
