Senior Product Manager
Purpose of the role
To own the product management and delivery of our live platform. What it should do, why it should do it, and making sure it gets built and lands well with the clients who depend on it.
Why this role
Our live platform carries the business and every client on it.
Product judgement matters more as building gets faster. The harder question is increasingly what is worth building rather than how to build it, and answering it well takes someone who understands the clinical domain and the people using the product.

Purpose of the role
To own the product management and delivery of our live platform. What it should do, why it should do it, and making sure it gets built and lands well with the clients who depend on it.
Why this role
Our live platform carries the business and every client on it.
- You would own a real product, with real authority. The roadmap, the delivery board, and the call on whether work is actually finished.
- It is a great opportunity to learn the healthcare domain. Clinical assessment, laboratory data, regulated reporting, and the accumulated decisions about how they fit together.
- There is real scope to improve how we work. How requirements get written, how work gets prioritised, and how we check what shipped all have room to improve.
- You can influence the way we work. We use AI tooling heavily and how we work with it is still new and changing quickly, so it can be influenced by how you think it should be done.
Product judgement matters more as building gets faster. The harder question is increasingly what is worth building rather than how to build it, and answering it well takes someone who understands the clinical domain and the people using the product.
Responsibilities
Product direction and roadmap
- Own the roadmap for the platform, deciding what it takes on and what it does not
- Balance planned platform work against committed client work, and keep those trade-offs visible to the rest of the business
- Maintain a view of where the product needs to go, informed by clients, users and the wider market
Discovery and customer understanding
- Meet clients and users to understand the problem behind a request, rather than taking the request at face value
- Work with customer success and operations to understand how the product is actually used day to day
- Test ideas early with quick prototypes, before committing them to a specification
Requirements and specification
- Write clear requirements documents covering the problem, the goals, what is in and out of scope, permissions and rollout
- Define what success looks like before work starts, so that the result can be judged afterwards
- Own how we specify work. Our existing documents are a starting point rather than a template, and we would expect you to develop them
Delivery
- Own the delivery board for a team of engineers
- Sequence work, manage capacity, remove blockers and hold timelines
- Confirm that what ships matches what was specified, decide whether any gaps matter now or later, and schedule them accordingly
- Hold the line on building client work as reusable platform capability, rather than letting deadline pressure turn it into a one-off
- Handle product-side triage when something breaks for a client, and decide what it displaces
- Keep operations, customer success and clients informed about what is landing and when
- Represent the platform in the internal meetings where its direction and delivery get discussed
Outcomes
- Assess whether delivered work achieved what its specification set out to achieve, not only that it shipped
- Feed that back into what the platform does next
Ways of working
- Improve how product and delivery run here, including through the use of AI tooling
- Look for the same opportunities in processes elsewhere in the business
What we are looking for
Essential
- Experience of owning roadmap, requirements and delivery for a live software product
- Confident daily use of AI development and reasoning tools such as Claude Code or Codex, with a clear view of where they help and where they mislead
- Enough technical depth to take a full part in discussions about APIs, authentication, data models, migrations and performance, and to get to the bottom of how an unfamiliar system behaves
- Comfortable forming a view and acting on it without a detailed brief, with the judgement to know when something should be raised instead
- Genuine interest in users and their working day, and the instinct to bound a problem rather than accept it as stated
- Able to work closely with commercial colleagues without losing product judgement
Desirable
- Experience in healthcare, clinical software or another regulated setting
- Experience of a product serving several distinct groups of users with different needs
- Experience of contributing to client scoping or statements of work
