Purpose of the Role
To support the PI in ethics application, development of research protocol, data collection, analysis, dissemination and reporting within the IMPACT EU grant.
The successful candidate may be required to work across CHI sites and services in line with organisational requirements and the development of the new children's hospital and associated services.
Essential Criteria:
• Hold a recognised University degree or diploma obtained with first or second class honours in which psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject or hold a recognised qualification equivalent to above. And
• Hold a relevant post-graduate professional qualification in Psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland.

Or
• Hold a postgraduate professional psychology qualification validated by the Department of Health and Children. Applicants should refer to the Dept. of Health & Children regulations on the Employment of Psychologists in the Health Services, as well as, the PSI Guidelines on Post Graduate Training & Qualifications. Candidates requiring validation to work in Ireland must provide proof of same at the time of application.
• Have 3 years' satisfactory postgraduate experience in Psychology inclusive of any time spent in pursuing a course leading to the postgraduate qualification.
• Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the post.
• Have experience working with children and adolescents with cancer in an acute hospital setting with specific Psycho-Oncology supervision - minimum of 6 months.
• The experience of and ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems/situations.
• Demonstrated competence in clinical audit and research skills.
• Have completed the psycho-oncology IMPACT EU training for the multi-centre study in paediatric psycho-oncology.
