Lilly is currently constructing a Next Generation Biotech Drug Substance Manufacturing Facility in Limerick, Ireland. This facility will be Lilly's most technically advanced manufacturing site and will include next-generation manufacturing technologies and advanced data collection and analysis platforms that will deliver improvements in safety and quality, and increased productivity and process performance.

The Material Operations & Supply Chain department are responsible for key operations within the business including but not limited to planning, buying, goods receipt, sampling, storage, kitting, dispensing all in a digital systems and automation environment. During the placement the student will be exposed to a variety of roles and functions while working as part of a cross functional team. Working alongside the Material Operations & Supply Chain team will enable the student to employ their existing knowledge and to expand it further.
