Description
The BDO Risk Advisory Services Graduate Programme offers graduates the opportunity to learn how businesses really work. You will be exposed to different organisations, industries and business challenges, which will help you develop the analytical, commercial and interpersonal skills that underpin a successful career in professional services.
You will not be confined to one narrow area, but instead will learn to understand organisations from the inside. You'll see what they are trying to achieve, what could prevent them, and how governance, risk management and controls play their part.
As part of the Risk Advisory Services ("RAS") team, you will work with a variety of clients across different industries, helping them identify risks, improve processes, enhance controls, and meet regulatory requirements. You will be involved in internal audits, compliance reviews, cyber security assessments, and IT audits, giving you a broad understanding of how organisations manage risk in today's evolving business environment.
Working alongside experienced professionals, you will develop strong problem-solving and client relationship skills. The RAS programme provides a strong foundation for a wide range of future opportunities. From a very early stage, you will work directly with clients, taking responsibility for meaningful work. As you progress we will support you in achieving professional qualifications and over time to identify the areas in which you want to specialise.

Key Responsibilities
- Participating in internal audit assignments, assessing the design and operating effectiveness of clients' processes, systems, and controls.
- Identifying areas for improvement, and recommending actions to enhance efficiency and strengthen controls.
- Conducting financial reviews to help clients align their financial processes with best practice and to meet regulatory requirements.
- For candidates interested in technology, conducting cyber security assessments, advising on the design and effectiveness of security management, processes, systems and controls.
- Assisting with a broad range of client engagements and business development activities, supporting the team in delivering high-quality outcomes.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- We typically look for graduates with a 2.1 Honours degree. However, we place a strong emphasis on critical thinking, curiosity and potential.
- We are seeking people who can analyse a problem, communicate clearly and bring an enquiring mindset to new challenges. Your degree discipline is less important than how you think.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective professional relationships.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning and professional development.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
