Job Description Turn Your Scientific Skills Into Quality-Driven Pharmaceutical Manufacturing QC Laboratory Technician Imagine being part of a Quality Control team helping to maintain the standards, accuracy, and compliance behind pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturing. This is an opportunity to join a highly regulated QC laboratory environment in Swords, Co. Dublin, supporting day-to-day laboratory operations alongside QC analysts and wider technical teams. You'll gain hands-on experience across laboratory support, sample management, documentation, quality systems, and GMP compliance. This practical role is suited to someone with a science background who takes pride in accuracy, organisation, and following established procedures within a regulated environment. What you'll achieve (and why it matters) Support day-to-day laboratory activities as part of the QC team. Assist QC analysts with material preparation, labelling, solution preparation, and disposal activities. Perform routine laboratory activities, including pH and balance calibrations. Support sample management, including sample disposal and expiry checks. Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation in line with quality requirements. Support audit and inspection readiness. Contribute to problem-solving and root-cause activities when issues arise. Maintain clean, organised, and well-stocked laboratory workstations. Wash, dry, and distribute laboratory glassware. Maintain glass-washing areas and remove pharmaceutical waste in accordance with procedures. Participate in laboratory Gemba activities and support 5S standards. Generate, review, and archive documentation as required. Contribute to site metrics and communicate laboratory activities effectively. Work collaboratively with colleagues while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities. Follow cGMP requirements, quality systems, company procedures, and applicable regulatory standards. Adapt to changing priorities and support shift operations in line with business requirements. Your edge (desired, not required) Minimum Level 5 qualification or equivalent secondary-school qualification, preferably with Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or another science subject. Level 6 or Level 7 qualification in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or a related discipline is advantageous. Previous experience in a QC laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, or other regulated environment. Exposure to GMP/cGMP and quality systems. Experience with laboratory documentation, sample management, solution preparation, laboratory equipment, or calibrations. Exposure to audits, inspections, or regulatory requirements is advantageous. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Ability to respond to changing priorities and work both independently and as part of a team. Flexible, proactive, and self-motivated approach. Willingness to work a 4 days on / 4 days off, 12-hour shift pattern.
