General Operative - Temporary

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and proactive General Operative to work on a construction site for a short term temporary project. (2 / 3 weeks approx)

This role would suit someone who can work on their own initiative and is able to work independently, while taking direction from site management and other trades on site. Good communication skills required.

Key Duties:

• Assist with daily deliveries arriving on site.

• Help unload trucks and move materials into individual houses as required.

• Work alongside kitchen fitters on site.

• Maintain a high standard of site housekeeping, ensuring houses and work areas are kept clean and organised.

• Speak with site management each morning regarding priorities and tasks for the day.

• Understand instructions and complete additional duties requested by the site team throughout the day.

• Monitor progress alongside kitchen fitters and provide a daily update to the project contact.

• Assist with the general day-to-day running of the site as required.

Requirements:

• Valid Safe Pass.

• Valid Manual Handling Certificate.

• Good level of spoken and written English.

• Reliable, punctual and able to work with minimal supervision.

• Good communication skills and comfortable dealing with site management.

• Practical, sensible and able to understand and carry out instructions.

• Previous construction site or general operative experience would be an advantage.

Any additional training required for the position will be provided.

Contract: Temporary – approximately 2-3 weeks
Start: Immediate

This is a hands-on position with a good level of responsibility, so they are looking for someone dependable who can be trusted to get on with the job and communicate effectively with the team on site.
