The Role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our Dundalk Tax Team on a full-time, permanent basis. This position operates on a hybrid basis, with four days per week in the office and the flexibility to work from home on Fridays.

Reporting directly to the Tax Director in Dundalk, you will lead, manage and develop our Dundalk Tax Team while overseeing a diverse portfolio of clients and delivering a broad range of tax services. The role will provide exposure across corporation tax, income tax, VAT, compliance and ad hoc consulting, offering an excellent opportunity to develop a well-rounded experience across the Irish tax landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop the Dundalk Tax Team, providing coaching, technical guidance and hands-on support to ensure a high standard of work and client service.
  • Manage and lead a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of sectors and business sizes, taking responsibility for the delivery of high-quality tax services.
  • Oversee workflow planning, resource allocation and delivery across multiple client engagements, ensuring work is completed efficiently and within agreed deadlines.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong, trusted relationships and ensuring an exceptional standard of client service is provided.
  • Identify and manage tax risks, technical uncertainties and potential exposures, providing practical and commercially focused solutions.
  • Oversee, prepare and review all Corporation Tax, Income Tax and VAT returns, ensuring timely and accurate submissions and appropriate follow-up with Revenue in relation to audits, interventions and enquiries.
  • Be part of tax advisory engagements, which may include shareholder planning and exits, CGT/CAT structuring and cross-border tax issues.
  • Manage and oversee tax compliance requirements, ensuring all relevant filing and payment deadlines are met.
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge through continuous professional development, ensuring all requirements of the relevant professional body are fulfilled.
  • Assist with business development activities, including preparing proposals, pitching for new work and participating in presentations to prospective clients.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the Tax line of service, identifying opportunities to enhance client offerings and develop new business.
  • Attend internal meetings, technical updates and training sessions as required.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role, as requested by the Director.
  • Uphold the firm's values, professional standards, code of ethics and business conduct at all times.


What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Qualified Tax Advisor (CTA) qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of Irish tax legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Manager/Manager within an Irish practice is highly desirable
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team
  • Commercially aware with a proactive, client-focused approach
  • Organised and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ambitious and motivated, with a strong desire for continued professional development
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Proactive, with a problem-solving mindset and a willingness to take initiative
  • A team player who can also work independently when required
  • Eager to learn and develop within a fast-paced, client-focused environment
  • Strong IT skills, including experience with tax software and Microsoft Office
