The Role:

The Asset Operations functions form the cornerstone of service delivery to customers, protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards as well as managing the majority of operational expenditure. The Asset Operational Control Function has responsibility for developing, implementing, and managing the activities of key technical teams and infrastructure, which provide expertise and excellence on a national basis in collaboration with, and complementary to, the Regional and Local delivery of routine front-line water and wastewater services.

The Integrated Operations team monitor the performance of the operating environment, ensuring risks to service continuity are identified and managed and that the Customer first approach is at the forefront of Asset Operations activities. This will include the performance of the asset base, optimising production and managing network integrity during interventions.

The National Operations Management Centre is responsible for providing centralised and standardised oversight of the operation of Uisce Éireann 's Assets on a 24/7/365 basis. This function delivers a key role in ensuring that risk is mitigated and frontline operations staff are provided with leading insights and support to assist in delivering safe and consistent services to Customer.

Reporting to the ICC Business Support Manager, the ICC Production Planning and Demand Technical Lead will be a key member of the National Operations Management Centre (NOMC) team within the Asset Operations function. The role is responsible for overseeing short-term water production planning and ensuring that storage and demand across Ireland's water supply network are effectively managed.

This role requires a high degree of collaboration with regional operations teams, production teams across Ireland and the Dublin region, Water Asset Strategy, and key stakeholders. The individual will need to have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive coordination and decision-making across multiple teams.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate national and regional production planning efforts, ensuring a balance between water demand, sustainable production and effective economic outcomes.
• Plan, coordinate and oversee activities impacting water production, storage and trunk distribution infrastructure.
• Coordinate outputs and align efforts with NOMC operations to support situational awareness, central alarm oversight and control objectives.
• Provide clear leadership in aligning production teams across the country and within the Dublin region, facilitating cross functional collaboration.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of supply and demand capacity including monitoring and planning short term water production based on timely data and forecasting models.
• Work closely with the Water Asset Strategy Team to align short & medium term planning with long-term infrastructure investments and sustainability goals.
• Track planning developments, key operational activities and environmental factors impacting water supply and storage.
• Establish and maintain a national supply risk register, ensuring proactive risk management.
• Utilise SCADA, telemetry and other digital tools to track, monitor and forecast water demand and capacity.
• Prepare reports and present findings to senior management and key stakeholders.
• Support emergency response and contingency planning for unplanned events impacting water supply.
• Contribute to strategic discussions on resilience, regulatory compliance and infrastructure investment to ensure long-term service sustainability.
• Carry out any other duties deemed necessary and / or required which your line manager may reasonably request.

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in key meetings, ensuring effective communication and alignment among stakeholders.
• Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
• Support the delivery of the ICC Water Network Team , driving results and contributing to operational excellence and innovation.
• Act as key advisor in production planning, providing expertise to internal teams and external partners.
• Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann's Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information, and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation.
• Perform other duties as required to support the overall objectives of Uisce Eireann.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• A relevant third level qualification in engineering, environmental science, data analysis or relevant experience is desirable.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in the water, utilities, infrastructure or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experience.
• In-depth knowledge of water plants and systems, water networks and systems

• Ability to develop and maintain effective strategic partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally.
• Proven ability to manage complex operational issues and provide data-driven decision-making support.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to a non-technical stakeholder.
