Position Summary
This Finance Analyst role is an exciting permanent role for an accounting professional looking to build financial analysis and cost center management to their skillset across Global Functions. The role partners closely with finance teams, cost center owners, and Corporate Finance, providing handson exposure to forecasting, variance analysis, presentation skills, and stakeholder engagement.
Success requires strong teamwork, communication, and analytical skills, offering a genuine pathway from accounting into a wellrounded career as a financial analyst. The position is based in Athlone.
Principal Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
Prepare and analyze monthly financial results for assigned cost centers, including communication of variance versus forecast, budget, and prior year
Ensure appropriate internal controls are maintained and that cost center accounting treatment follows corporate accounting policies and standards
Participate in the forecasting and budgeting processes, coordinating with all stakeholders
Coordinate monthly/quarterly financial close; including preparation of journal entries and financial reports
Assist with preparation of annual plan, forecasts and strategic plan, including preparation of variance analyses
Liaise with cost centre owners to complete ad hoc requests for support and ensure approval processes for invoices and expenses are up to date
Assist with the development of a robust financial risk assessment process and actively maintain a financial risk register for opportunities and costs within assigned cost centers
Support ad hoc projects and analysis for broader finance teams, researching and analyzing data to provide clear, cohesive explanations of business drivers
Support the Finance Manager with the preparation of key management presentations
Develop and maintain standard work templates across global functions
Adhere to and ensure compliance with the Teleflex Code of Ethics and all company policies, rules, and procedures
Other responsibilities/projects outlined by Finance Manager and senior management members
Education / Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics, or equivalent experience; suited to someone with an accounting background looking to move into financial analysis and business partnering
2 to 4 years of experience in a finance/ accounting role
Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA would be an advantage
Understanfing of the annual budgeting and forecasting process
General accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and standards
Ability to develop ad hoc reports as requested
Strong systems experience, including advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and functions); exposure to SAP, Hyperion, and/or other EPM tools would be an advantage.
Strong analytical, problemsolving, and communication skills, with ability to translate financial data for nonfinance stakeholders; proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
