Graduate Quantity Surveyor - Dublin
Graduate Quantity Surveyor – Dublin
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Sector: Civil Engineering / Infrastructure / Construction
Employment: Full-time, Permanent
Are you a recent Quantity Surveying graduate looking to start your career on a major infrastructure project rather than spending your first couple of years purely office based?
YourCode Recruitment is working with a major international construction and infrastructure organisation looking to appoint a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to its Commercial team in Dublin.
This is an excellent opportunity for a 2025 or 2026 graduate to gain hands-on commercial experience on a large, complex civil engineering project while learning from experienced Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers.
You'll be involved across the commercial lifecycle of the project, gaining exposure to subcontract management, measurement and take-offs, procurement, change control, progress reporting and cost management.
For someone looking to build a long-term career in Quantity Surveying, this offers the chance to develop your technical and commercial skills on a genuinely significant project from the beginning of your career.
The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you'll work closely with the wider Commercial, Operations and Design teams, as well as subcontractors and supply chain partners.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the commercial management of a major infrastructure project
Completing measurement, take-offs and remeasurement both on site and from drawings
Assisting with subcontractor management and commercial administration
Supporting procurement activities and tender analysis
Monitoring site progress, productivity, labour, plant and materials
Assisting with subcontract documentation
Supporting project change control
Gathering and analysing commercial and project data
Attending project meetings and workshops
Working closely with operational, design and commercial stakeholders
Supporting project reporting
Developing your understanding of construction contracts and commercial management
Completing relevant professional and technical training
What We're Looking For
We're particularly interested in speaking with graduates who have:
A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or another relevant discipline, completed in 2025 or 2026
A genuine interest in developing a career in Quantity Surveying and commercial management
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Good attention to detail
Confident written and verbal communication skills
Good organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities
Confidence communicating with different project stakeholders
Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
A full driving licence
The legal right to work in the Republic of Ireland
You'll also need to be willing to complete the required background screening process due to the nature of the project.
Previous industry experience isn't essential, although any placement, internship or work experience within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or Quantity Surveying would naturally be useful.
Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, BIM or measurement software would also be beneficial but isn't essential.
Why Consider It?
The scale of the project makes this a particularly good opportunity for someone at the beginning of their Quantity Surveying career.
Rather than joining a smaller project with limited exposure, you'll have the opportunity to learn within an experienced commercial team while working alongside construction, design, operational and supply chain teams on a major infrastructure programme.
The organisation also offers opportunities to develop your career both locally and internationally.
Benefits include:
34 days' annual leave
Company pension
Life insurance
Employee Assistance Programme
Financial, emotional and physical wellbeing support
Annual health checks
Ongoing professional development
Support towards professional memberships
Cycle to Work scheme
Employee discounts
Company-funded language lessons
Sick pay
Wider wellbeing initiatives
If you're graduating in 2025 or 2026 and want to start your Quantity Surveying career on a major project where you'll gain genuine commercial exposure from day one, we'd be interested in hearing from you.
