UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 2, School of Medicine, Temporary Up to 20th May 2028 with possibility of extension
Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 2 within the School of Medicine
To an innovative research programme focused on the development and application of digital twin approaches for ovarian cancer. The successful candidate will join the research groups of Professor Walter Kolch and Professor Donal Brennan at Systems Biology Ireland (SBI), University College Dublin, and will contribute to a multidisciplinary research programme being delivered in collaboration with an industry partner. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative team of computational, experimental and clinical researchers to deliver key objectives of the programme.
SBI is a leading interdisciplinary research centre that integrates computational modelling with experimental and clinical research to advance precision medicine. This post leads the development of a multi-modal computational foundation model for ovarian cancer and patient-specific digital twin models, using AI/ML as well as mechanistic modelling technologies. The successful candidate will translate multi-omics and perturbation data into models capable of identifying causally-grounded predictive biomarkers of response to an antibody-drug conjugate and combination therapies, and will supervise a junior computational postdoc.
Salary Range: €55,399 - €56,957 Per Annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Closing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on 2 September 2026
Applications must be submitted by the closing date and time specified. Any applications which are still in progress at the closing time of 12:00 noon (Local Irish Time) on the specified closing date will be cancelled automatically by the system. UCD are unable to accept late applications.
UCD do not require assistance from Recruitment Agencies. Any CV's submitted by Recruitment Agencies will be returned.
The PD2 post is intended for researchers that have completed PD1. As with the PD1, if you have already completed your PD2 stage in UCD or will soon complete a PD2, or your total Postdoctoral experience, inclusive of the duration of the advertised post, would exceed 6 years, you should not apply and should refer to Research Fellow posts instead.
