Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 2, UCD School of Medicine, Temporary Up to 20th May 2028 with possibility of extension
Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 2 within UCD School of Medicine.
Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral Research Fellow to contribute to an innovative research programme focused on the development and application of digital twin approaches for ovarian cancer. The successful candidate will join the research groups of Professor Walter Kolch and Professor Donal Brennan at Systems Biology Ireland (SBI), University College Dublin, and will contribute to a multidisciplinary research programme being delivered in collaboration with an industry partner. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative team of computational, experimental and clinical researchers to deliver key objectives of the programme.
SBI is a leading interdisciplinary research centre that integrates computational modelling with experimental and clinical research to advance precision medicine. This post leads the generation and analysis of multi-omics datasets (proteomics, phosphoproteomics and spatial transcriptomics/proteomics) from patient-derived tissue fragment (PDTF) models of ovarian cancer. This is central to the experimental workstream: the successful candidate will produce the core datasets underpinning the computational foundation and digital twin models, coordinate with the UCD/SBI Core Technology Facility and outsourced providers, and supervise junior wet lab postdocs.
The role requires advanced expertise in multi-omics experimental techniques - particularly proteomics and/or phosphoproteomics - and experience with spatial transcriptomics or spatial proteomics platforms, together with experience handling human tissue samples. Experience with patient-derived tissue or organoid models, immuno-oncology, and mentoring junior researchers is desirable.
Salary Range: €55,399 - €56,957 Per Annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Closing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on 02/09/2026.
Applications must be submitted by the closing date and time specified. Any applications which are still in progress at the closing time of 12:00 noon (Local Irish Time) on the specified closing date will be cancelled automatically by the system. UCD are unable to accept late applications.
UCD do not require assistance from Recruitment Agencies. Any CV's submitted by Recruitment Agencies will be returned.
