Industrial Contracts Manager

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Kilkenny

Overview of the role:

The Industrial Contracts Manager will serve as a key liaison between Veolia Ireland and its clients, ensuring successful execution of water and wastewater contracts while maintaining operational excellence. This role is critical in supporting contract management activities, driving operational efficiencies, and maintaining strong client relationships across multiple operational sites. The position requires a strategic approach to contract execution while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Duties of the Role include;
  • Support the Head of Water/National General Manager and Plant Managers with existing Operate & Maintain (O&M) contracts/metering contracts/other contracts held within the Water O&M business unit.
  • Assist with estimating, pricing and quantity surveying on contract variations
  • Support the project teams on process improvements, client specific projects etc.
  • Evaluate contractor performance after project completion
  • Work with support services to assist with the rollout of company procedures and initiatives
  • Support operational sites and teams with implementation of quality and safety standards systems (VMR, LRQA etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Manage and develop direct reports, including setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, and providing coaching and mentoring to support career development
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams across operational sites, providing guidance and direction to indirect reports to ensure alignment with company objectives and contract deliverables
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration among team members, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices across the organization
  • Ensure team compliance with all Health and Safety policies, quality standards (VMR, LRQA), and company procedures through effective communication and supervision
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients on contract related matters
  • In conjunction with Plant Managers or team leads, prepare comprehensive monthly client reports
  • Support the preparation and accuracy of client billing processes
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns
  • Present operational updates and performance metrics to clients during review meetings
  • Negotiate contract variations and commercial positions that benefit both the company and client


Required skills for this role;
  • Degree qualification Level 7 /8 in engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience in water/waste/water industry
  • Supervisory/management experience
  • Strong personal skills and communication skills, fluent English
