Shift Electrician - 24 months Fixed Term Contract

This role is based at our Oral care (OC) manufacturing facility and site in Dungarvan. The successful candidate will be multi skilling with electrical & automation capability. Key equipment sets in automated packaging arena on site include:
  • IWK High-Speed Tube Filler
  • IWK High-Speed Cartoner
  • Kilian Tablet Press
  • Pester Case Packers
  • Romaco Siebler Machines
  • Pester Shrink Wrapper
  • Cognex Camera Systems
  • Oli Palletizer


Additionally, the facility includes four manufacturing suites equipped with pumps, heating vessels, and heating skids and you will be a key resource in hands on highly skilled electrical work for these.

In this role your key tasks and responsibilities will be as follows
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment, including motors, control panels, PLCs, and power distribution systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in packaging lines and process manufacturing equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Conduct fault finding and diagnostics on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to identify and rectify issues in real-time.
  • Oversee the installation of new electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Recommend and implement upgrades and improvements to existing electrical systems to enhance performance and energy efficiency.
  • Follow all Health and Safety, Maintenance, Manufacturing and GMP Procedures (SOP's)
  • Strive to prevent breakdowns rather than fix breakdowns after they happen.
  • All preventative and corrective maintenance work is carried out and documented into MERP CMMS software system.
  • Complete Breakdown Analysis for breakdowns > 1 hr. to understand how to prevent repeat breakdowns.
  • Support the Reliability team to improve machine reliability.


Must have Experience and Skill Sets:
  • Electrical Senior Trades or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including motors, drives, PLCs, and power distribution.
  • Electrical Trade Qualification.
  • 3+ Years experience of working in Regulated environment (Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, food etc.)
  • Preferred experience with packaging equipment.
  • Working knowledge of PLC and automation a benefit.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Corrective / Preventative maintenance and machine changeover on all equipment in Production and Packaging led environment.


EUR 40,275.00 - EUR 55,378.40The salary range for this position is indicative and provided as a guide. The final offer may vary depending on factors including relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations. Salary ranges may vary by location in line with local market conditions and applicable pay transparency regulations.Compensation information is shared for the primary location of this role.
