Our client - A leading Irish main contractor is seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Engineer to oversee technical execution, quality control, and engineering functions across multiple concurrent projects in North Dublin. Key Responsibilities
Technical Oversight & Accuracy
- Verify setting out and surveying activities across multiple sites to ensure absolute geometric accuracy.
- Review complex design drawings, specifications, and quantities to identify errors or discrepancies early.
- Manage requests for information (RFIs), coordinating directly with architects, design teams, and structural engineers to resolve technical bottlenecks.
- Supervise groundwork and civil engineering contractors, ensuring site preparation aligns perfectly with the primary design.
Team Leadership & Operations
- Manage and mentor junior site engineers, allocating setting-out tasks and auditing their work.
- Coordinate sub-contractor activities across various locations to optimize resource allocation and prevent workflow clash.
- Assist Project Managers with look-ahead scheduling, material procurement tracking, and program delivery metrics.
Quality Assurance & Health & Safety
- Enforce Building Control Amendment Regulations (BCAR) documentation, maintaining comprehensive sign-off records.
- Conduct pre- and post-pour checks on reinforcement, shuttering, and concrete compliance.
- Champion site safety protocols, ensuring full compliance with health and safety activities and statutory site procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Minimum of a Level 8 Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience within the Irish or UK construction sectors, ideally working with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor.
