Mechanical Engineer

Reporting to the Project Manager/ Engineering Manager

  • Duties:


    • Liaising with clients and assisting in managing Mechanical projects


    • Lead mechanical engineering projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.


    • Perform engineering calculations and simulations, including stress analysis, thermal analysis, and fluid dynamics, using tools like ANSYS or similar.


    • Site surveys and Engineering inspection activities


    • Analysis and review of mechanical design documents


    • Mechanical Specification writing, trouble shooting and problem solving


    • Provide Technical support to the Mechanical Site Management Team


    • Manage the Mechanical documentation to ensure the relevant Registers and Logs are kept up to date


    • Manage Mechanical System handovers, with site-based Commissioning specialists


    • Collaborate with production teams to ensure manufacturability and provide technical support during manufacturing processes.


    • Evaluate RFI responses and ensure engineering issues are resolved


    • Ensure Site Management are working off the latest Specifications and Drawings


    • Prepare Mechanical Technical Submittals according to the specifications


    • Participate in ongoing improvement initiatives to enhance design processes, reduce costs, and improve quality.


    • Populate Mechanical Test Packs and collated Test record sheets for system completion.


    • Collate Mechanical O&M Manual documentation for inclusion in the final handover documents


    • Ensure the Project Quality Plan and associated Mechanical Inspection & Test plan is being followed for each system.


  • Previous Experience / Qualifications:


    • Minimum 3+ years experience


    • Third Level qualification


    • Ability to work well within strict deadlines and on their own initiative


    • Excellent communication skills


    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills


    • Excellent attention to detail


    • Mechanical knowledge & experience gained from either a trade or academic background


  • Desirable:


    • Good knowledge of AutoCad / NavisWorks


    • Previous construction site experience


    • Renewable energy knowledge beneficial


    • Pharmaceutical experience


  • Full Time Position.


  • Salary is dependent on experience.


  • Position based in on various Mechanical Projects.


  • Working Time 45 hours per week.
