We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and creative Research Assistant with strong research and communication skills to join the School of Public Health in UCC. You will be responsible for carrying out research tasks to support the 'Vaping Education Tool' project under the direction of Dr Monica O'Mullane and Dr Niamh Bambury.
The Research Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the roll-out of the intervention with school-aged children (aged 14-16 years) as part of a multi-agency team across UCC, HSE and community partners, review relevant literature throughout the project lifecycle, as required, and monitor project timelines, providing the group with updates on upcoming milestones.
Day to day activities will include:
The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational, research and interpersonal skills, and would have an ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of multi-agency team. A postgraduate qualification in an academic discipline relevant to public health or health services research is essential (e.g., health, social sciences, public policy). Knowledge of health research methods is essential including quantitative and qualitative methods, and experience in these methods is required. Experience in undertaking research with youth groups is desirable. The candidate should be experienced in the use of IT applications, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. An interest in enhancing learning in graphic design, would be a bonus. They will work as part of a research team in a flexible and dynamic working environment in the School of Public Health.

Salary: €34,129 - €44,311 p.a. pro-rata (50% FTE) (IUA RA Scale)
Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
