Clinical Nurse Manager 1 - Acute Medical Short Stay Unit (AMSSU)

The primary role of the Clinical Nurse Manager 1 on the Acute Medical Short Stay Unit (AMSSU) is one of clinical and professional leadership in the clinical nursing team. To provide clinical and educational support to nursing staff for the purpose of promoting the highest standards of safe, quality care to patients. The CNM1 will deputise for the CNM2 in their absence. In collaboration with key stakeholders the post holder will facilitate the implementation of the National Clinical Care Programmes with particular emphasis on the Acute Medicine Programme. Ensuring the provision of the highest standards of care is consistent with the hospital ethos and strategic plan. The CNM1 will demonstrate an advanced level of nursing knowledge/skill and take responsibility for promoting nursing staff competence. A critical element of the role is the effective liaison and communication with the Clinical Nurse Manager 2 & 3, Directorate Nurse Manager and the multi-disciplinary team to provide continuity of safe, effective and efficient patient care.
