Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop and optimise our core in-vehicle software platform for Sonatus Fastlane Collector and Copilot products. In this role, you will be a key contributor to next-generation vehicle applications, middleware, and platform services running on automotive-grade High-Performance Compute (HPC) platforms.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and optimize high-performance in-vehicle applications and connectivity middleware, ensuring low latency and high-throughput data transfer between vehicles and the cloud.
  • Implement and support robust platform services responsible for system-wide resource management, health monitoring, and lifecycle management.
  • Troubleshoot and root-cause issues across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Author comprehensive unit and integration tests. Conduct code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality.
  • Adhere to established development processes and create clear design documents to facilitate design reviews and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, maths, physics, or a similar field.
  • Strong proficiency in modern C++ (C++14/17), with a deep understanding of RAII, smart pointers, multithreading, inter-process communication, and memory management in resource-constrained environments.
  • Hands-on experience developing, cross-compiling, testing, and debugging on Embedded Linux. Experience with Android, QNX, and other POSIX-compliant operating systems is a plus.
  • Experience writing automated unit and integration tests using modern C++ testing frameworks and Python.
  • Experience with modern transport protocols (HTTP, MQTT) and serialization formats (Protobuf, FlatBuffers, JSON).
  • Exposure to vehicle network/diagnostic standards (CAN, Ethernet, SOME/IP, UDS) or automotive industry standards such as Adaptive AUTOSAR is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Rust is a plus.
  • A team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
