Deputy Head of General Services (Grade VIII)

The Deputy Head of General Services will be responsible for the day to day operational management, coordination and development of the General Services function encompassing Catering, Hygiene, Cleaning/Contract Cleaning, Portering, Housekeeping, Post, Transport, Laundry and Linen Services for the Hospital. The role also involves responsibility for support services in Theatre and for waste management. The role will involve leading, directing, motivating and supporting a management team, ensuring that excellent standards are applied to the key services and processes that support core business and positive patient outcomes at MMUH.

The post holder, in conjunction with the Head of General Services, will be responsible for the planning and implementation of systems that support the MMUH in compliance with all aspects of local and national legislation/regulation, national and international best practice standards. S/he will liaise closely with all relevant departments and services within the MMUH in the development of policies, procedures and guidelines for general services.
