About the Role

The Legal Technologist is the foundation role within the Innovation Group. You will build core technical and legal technology skills, deliver project work under the guidance of senior team members, and develop an understanding of the organisation's technology landscape. You will work alongside lawyers and business professionals to design smarter, faster, and more impactful solutions for our clients.
This role reports to the Head of Innovation and sits within a structured career progression framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Technology Configuration and Support - You will configure, test, and maintain legal technology platforms and tools, troubleshoot issues, and provide day-to-day support to end users across the firm. This includes facilitating the deployment and customisation of legal technology tools, while fostering adoption and engagement among lawyers.
- Innovation Project Delivery - You will support the delivery of Innovation projects under the direction of senior team members, contributing to defined tasks within a project scope. Projects will include the development and implementation of legal technology solutions that enhance legal service delivery.
- Process Improvement - You will document processes, workflows, and technical specifications, and contribute to the analysis and re-engineering of legal workflows to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
- Training and Enablement - You will provide training and support to legal teams on new technologies and processes, helping to drive adoption and engagement across the business.
- Research and Development - You will conduct research into emerging legal technology solutions and effectively communicate developments to legal teams and the wider business.
EXPERIENCE
What You Bring
We welcome applications from candidates who hold a bachelor's degree or higher in Law, Business, Computer Science, or a related field. Prior roles or projects involving legal technology, process improvement, or innovation are advantageous.
Essential skills and attributes:
- A strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex processes and workflows
- Competency and comfort with digital tools and platforms
- Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 suite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A collaborative and problem-solving approach, with a willingness to learn and work in multidisciplinary teams
- Curiosity about how law, technology, and business intersect
- A commercial mindset and client-centric approach
Desirable skills and attributes:
- Understanding of Generative AI concepts, including large language models and prompt engineering
- Familiarity with legal technology platforms such as document automation, contract lifecycle management, or AI-assisted review tools
- Experience with workflow automation, no-code/low-code development, or data analysis
