Reference: 102_699989_8709926002

We're looking for a collaborative Senior Software Engineer to join our Revenue Engineering team.

As a Senior Software Engineer, Revenue Engineering, you'll design, build, and evolve the software and integration services that connect Muck Rack's product with our commercial systems. You'll play a key role in enabling capabilities like in-app purchasing, automated provisioning, customer onboarding, and subscription lifecycle automation by designing scalable backend services, APIs, and event-driven integrations.

You'll partner closely with Product, Revenue Operations, Finance, and Salesforce implementation partners to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. As a senior member of the team, you'll help shape the architecture of Muck Rack's integration platform, lead complex technical initiatives, and ensure our revenue platform remains resilient, maintainable, and ready to scale as self-service and Product-Led Growth capabilities evolve.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services and applications using Python and Django that power customer provisioning, permissions/packaging, self-service purchasing, and subscription lifecycle workflows
  • Design and implement APIs and event-driven integrations between Muck Rack, Salesforce Revenue Cloud, Stripe, RightRev, and other business systems
  • Lead the evolution of Muck Rack's internal integration platform, designing scalable services that reliably translate commercial events into product actions and customer experiences
  • Partner closely with Product, Revenue Operations, Finance, and Salesforce implementation partners to define integration patterns, API contracts, event models, and scalable technical solutions
  • Lead the technical design and delivery of medium-to-large engineering initiatives from architecture through production
  • Identify cross-system dependencies and technical risks early, partnering across teams to drive decisions and unblock delivery
  • Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code while setting a high bar through thoughtful code reviews and technical mentorship
  • Improve the reliability, observability, scalability, and performance of revenue-critical services and proactively identify opportunities to simplify and modernize the platform
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues across systems and help establish patterns that improve platform resilience
  • Contribute to the long-term architecture of Muck Rack's revenue platform, ensuring solutions remain modular, maintainable, and extensible as self-service purchasing and Product-Led Growth capabilities expand

To Be Set Up for Success in This Role, You'll Need to Have

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in Python and extensive experience building production applications with Django
  • Experience designing and building REST APIs and integrating with third-party platforms and external systems
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, particularly MySQL, and ORM patterns
  • Experience designing scalable, maintainable backend services in a SaaS environment
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, or messaging platforms such as Kafka, Celery, or similar technologies
  • Proven ability to independently lead technical initiatives from architecture and design through production
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production support experience across distributed systems and integrations
  • Experience using Git and modern collaborative software development workflows
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical considerations for both technical and non-technical partners

If Any of the Below Also Describe You, This Could Be an Exciting Opportunity

  • Experience building or evolving internal integration platforms
  • Experience integrating with Salesforce or other CRM platforms; Salesforce administration experience is not required
  • Experience building systems that support customer provisioning, subscription management, billing, or revenue workflows
  • Experience designing event-driven or distributed systems
  • Experience integrating with billing, payment, or quote-to-cash platforms
  • Experience with Vue.js or another modern frontend framework
  • Experience working in a high-growth SaaS environment
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies

In Addition, We're Always Looking for Candidates Who

  • Take ownership of complex technical challenges and drive them from concept through production
  • Balance pragmatism with long-term maintainability when making engineering decisions
  • Identify ambiguity and dependencies early and help teams move toward clear technical decisions
  • Collaborate effectively across Engineering, Product, Revenue Operations, Finance, and other business teams
  • Set a high technical bar while helping other engineers grow through mentorship and thoughtful feedback
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve system reliability, architecture, and developer productivity
  • Thrive in a collaborative, remote-first environment and communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proactively incorporate AI tools into day-to-day work to improve productivity and accelerate delivery
