DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reserving
  • Participate in ensuring reserving programs are set up in a timely manner in time for the monthly closing of the accounts.
  • Participate in the development and testing of new methodologies for calculating the technical reserves.
  • Improvements to existing programs.
  • Debugging issues with existing programs and VBA macros.
  • Maintenance of the Data Centralizer for all the partners that are live in Titan.
  • Develop new functionalities in the Data Centralizer for partners that are live in Titan.
  • Contribute to other key projects.


Reserving Program migration
  • Develop applications for creation of new reserving programs.
  • Communicate and Review program specifications with Data Management.
  • User Acceptance Testing of programs before entering into production.
  • Documentation of progress and checks carried out.


Database Management & Reporting
  • Assist in defining data and reporting requirements while setting up new partners/products/reinsurance treaties.
  • Complete monthly controls for Audit/Governance.
  • Participate in the regular report running schedule and process.
  • Identify and report data entry errors. Monitor progress made toward resolution of errors and contribute to creation of new controls.

External Relations
  • Develop good relationships with Data Management Team
  • With IT, Project, Administration & Operations, Finance and Business Development Departments
  • With corporate clients and Third-Party Administrators (TPA)
    Liaise closely with the Reserving Production team To be back-up of the fellow colleague in situation of absence.

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

Actuarial qualification (part-qualified) or qualified.

Level of minimal experience

3-5 years

Experience

Experience:
• 2 or more years of experience in actuarial roles
• Prior programming experience a necessity
• Experience with SAS/SQL/Python preferable
• Experience working with Microsoft packages, particularly Excel, a necessity
• Knowledge of common Reserving techniques an advantage. (eg: Bornheutter Ferguson, Chain Ladder, Mack Method)

Required skills

Good communication skills, team player, organised and punctual

Languages

English fluency necessary for this position. French or other European language an advantage
