We're looking for a passionate Site Health & Safety Manager to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Health & Safety programme at our site in Ballybay, Monaghan. This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to influence safety culture across a busy operational site while partnering with managers, employees, contractors, and senior stakeholders.

Reporting directly to the Site Manager and working closely with the Group Health & Safety Team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Health & Safety policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement effective control measures.
  • Support managers in embedding safe working practices across all operations.
  • Lead audits, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action plans.
  • Deliver safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks for employees and contractors.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on Health & Safety performance, KPIs, and compliance activities.
  • Chair site safety meetings and provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with all legislative requirements.
  • Promote a positive safety culture through engagement, coaching, and behavioural safety initiatives.
  • Provide expert advice on occupational health, ergonomics, safe working practices, and equipment safety.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Safety and Health from an University or equivalent IOSH qualification
  • 3+ years post qualification experience in health and safety ideally food and / or manufacturing environments
  • Strong communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to identify continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong IT sills and familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point and other common software tools
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience in a Training environment would be beneficial
