Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Senior Research Scientist within the school of Biology and Environmental Science.
The Research Scientist will support the delivery of the Enterprise Ireland Commercialisation Fund project Mehal, which is developing novel environmental DNA (eDNA)-based molecular diagnostic technologies for the early detection of horticultural pests. Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the postholder will lead the development, optimisation and validation of molecular assays and laboratory workflows, contribute to experimental design and data analysis, and work closely with academic, industry and commercial partners to deliver project objectives. The Research Scientist will also contribute to technology translation, project management, dissemination activities and commercialisation outputs.
Fixed Salary: €81,760 per annum (€32,704 per annum pro rata)
