Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1, UCD School of Computer Science, 12 months

Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within Computer Science.

The researcher will define new data management processes, tools and models for FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) metadata for prevention and control of healthcare acquired infections as a part of supporting antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance in the era of European Health Data Spaces Regulation (EHDS). This will contribute to the development of European Health Data Spaces and a better understanding of the applications of computer science for data management in healthcare.

The researcher will collaborate with stakeholders in the HSE Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection Control (AMRIC) centre and St. James's Hospital. They will survey international best practice. Outputs will include a new open FAIR metadata model for AMR surveillance data, validated methods for applying it and high impact academic publications. The role will include supervision and mentoring of more junior researchers. The role directly reports to the PI, Dr. Rob Brennan.

Fixed Salary: €47,273 per annum.

Closing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on 18/08/2026.
