ACCOUNTANT

ABOUT THE ROLE & WHO WE ARE

This is a role for someone who wants to own the numbers - and the systems that produce them. Someone who can do the accounting cleanly, and who's always seeing how it could be done better.

This is a small finance team supporting a large business - eleven gaming venues across Ireland and Northern Ireland, our online casino, and everything that comes with them. You'll own real deliverables: month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, VAT and tax compliance, and the management reporting the business runs on. The numbers have to be right, the audit trail has to be tidy, and the deadlines are real.

But here's what makes this role different: we don't just want the work done - we want it rebuilt. The manual journal pulls, the copy-paste between systems, the spreadsheet someone built years ago that nobody fully understands. As you do the work, you'll modernise it - with proper AI tools, full access from day one, and a leadership team that already works this way.

Coastline Gaming is one of Ireland's most established gaming and entertainment operators, with eleven venues nationwide and our fast-growing online casino. For over 40 years, we've been creating spaces where people come to enjoy themselves - not a startup that might not be around tomorrow. We're stable, we're growing, and we invest in the people who run the business day to day.

One more thing, and it matters: we're an AI-forward company. Everyone here, up to Senior Management and Director level, uses AI tools daily for real work - and finance is no exception. We hire for capability, not seniority. Part-qualified, newly qualified, a few years post-qualification, or qualified by experience - where you sit on the ladder matters less than whether you can do clean accounting work and genuinely build with AI. If you've been quietly automating things in your current role and wondering why nobody around you gets it - this is the role those projects were preparing you for.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

      • Month-end close - across our trading entities, owning journals, reconciliations and lead schedules. You do the work, then tighten the cycle as you go

      • Balance sheet integrity - bank, intercompany and control account reconciliations that always tell the truth

      • VAT and tax compliance - accurate filings, on time, with an audit trail that stands up to scrutiny. Then build the controls so it stays that way

      • Payroll support - helping run accurate, on-time payroll for a multi-site workforce, and automating the prep so it stops being a manual checklist

      • Management reporting and analytics - not data dumps. Dashboards and standing reports that answer the recurring questions before they get asked

      • Ad-hoc analysis - cost reviews, capex appraisals, division performance - the analysis that supports real decisions

      • Rebuilding finance processes - taking the repetitive, manual and fragile parts of all of the above and replacing them with something better, using the AI stack we'll give you

This list isn't a boundary. If you see a process that's slower or messier than it should be, improving it is part of the job - and you'll have the tools to actually do it.

WHO YOU ARE

        • A real finance background - part-qualified or qualified (ACCA / ACA / CIMA / ATI), or genuinely hands-on accounts experience: month-end, reconciliations, VAT, payroll. The exact qualification matters less than whether you can do the work cleanly

        • You build with AI, not just chat with it - you've made workflows, automations or tools that you (or others) actually use. It doesn't need to be enterprise-scale. It needs to be real, and you should be able to walk us through it

        • AI as a daily tool, not a topic - you already use it for real finance work, and you're hungry to go further

        • Accuracy that doesn't bend - automation speeds up the work; it doesn't excuse sloppy accounts. Numbers right, controls in place, audit trail tidy

        • A self-starter - you see what needs doing and do it, without waiting for a brief

        • You have opinions - you can look at a finance process and say what's working, what's not, and why

WHAT WE OFFER

    • Competitive compensation - based on experience, capability and skills

    • Real AI tools, paid for - full access to a professional AI stack from day one, and the training to use it well. Most finance roles won't give you this for years; here it's standard

    • Skills that compound - accounts experience plus real AI capability is the most employable combination in finance right now, and you'll build both here

    • Genuine scope - retail venues, online casino, property. The finance function touches all of it, and most of it is rebuildable

    • Responsibility from day one - real work early, and the freedom to shape and improve processes as you go

    • Room to grow - the business and the finance function are both expanding, and progression is real

    • A small, supportive team - where your contribution is visible, not lost in a headcount

    • Flexibility that fits - hybrid working for Dublin-based team members; free onsite parking at our Buncrana office
