What you'll do

Join Viasat as a full-stack engineer in the Advertising team to develop innovative web services.

You will join a dynamic, multi-functional team that not only designs but also supports their services in production! This role will enable you to gain comprehensive experience in all aspects of the Software Development lifecycle, from initial design through to successful implementation and ongoing support. You will collaborate closely with product management and UX design teams, ensuring flawless delivery of services that meet our high standards.

The day-to-day

  • Develop and maintain web applications using modern technologies.
  • Engage with multi-functional teams in designing, building, and shipping new features.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Provide on-call production support for Advertising products.
  • Engage in code reviews and actively contribute to the team's development.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies such as AWS and Spring.
  • Maintain API services and front-end libraries that serve Ads in passenger experiences.
  • Utilize AI tooling to increase your engineering productivity.
  • A willingness to learn with support from your mentor.

Additional Details
  • This position is site-based. Site-based employees work 3+ days (60%+) per week from a Viasat office or work location within a standard five-day work week. Relocation assistance is available pending eligibility.

What you'll need

  • Education: Completion of Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: This role is intended for someone with 0-3 years of full-time, relevant industry experience.
  • Citizenship: This position requires Irish or EU Citizenship or a valid Irish Work Permit.
  • Experience with version control systems, including Git.
  • Experience with frontend technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React.
  • Experience with backend technologies, including Node.js, Python, Ruby, or Java.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

What will help you on the job

  • Familiarity with Design Patterns and how to apply them.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with testing frameworks and tools.
  • Familiarity with database technologies.
