This is a contract opportunity for someone who can quickly establish credibility within a complex enterprise environment and provide architectural leadership across a major regulatory transformation programme. This role will suit an experienced Solution Architect who has delivered large-scale technology solutions involving enterprise applications, data architecture, APIs, integrations, and SaaS platforms.
You'll be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-vendor environment, collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to design and deliver solutions that meet demanding regulatory, security, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Define end-to-end solution architectures spanning application, integration, data, and technology layers.
- Produce high-quality solution design documentation, including High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs).
- Ensure all solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, principles, and target-state architecture.
- Lead technical design discussions across programme teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Provide architectural governance, including design reviews, approvals, and assurance activities.
- Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, resilience, performance, and maintainability requirements.
- Define integration strategies across APIs, services, enterprise platforms, and legacy systems.
- Design robust data flows and data exchange patterns between multiple internal and external systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on API design, service contracts, integration approaches, and data models.
- Support Agile delivery teams throughout sprint planning, backlog refinement, and implementation activities.
- Identify architectural risks, dependencies, and constraints, providing mitigation strategies where required.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to translate regulatory and operational requirements into practical technology solutions.
- Support the delivery of AML-related capabilities, including Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Customer Risk Rating, AML data management, customer lifecycle reviews, and regulatory reporting.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect within large-scale enterprise transformation or digital delivery programmes.
- Strong background in enterprise application architecture, including Java-based environments, APIs, and microservices.
- Extensive experience designing integrated solutions across multiple systems, applications, and platforms.
- Experience defining enterprise data architecture and designing complex data flows across multiple repositories and integration layers.
- Strong understanding of security, regulatory compliance, GDPR, and non-functional requirements.
- Experience integrating SaaS and third-party platforms into complex enterprise environments.
- Demonstrable experience working within Agile delivery environments alongside Product Owners, Scrum Masters, developers, and QA teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
- Ability to articulate design decisions, technical trade-offs, and architectural risks to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable
- Experience within Financial Services, Insurance, Banking, or other highly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of AML, KYC, Customer Due Diligence, or regulatory transformation programmes.
- Experience with Fenergo or similar client lifecycle management platforms.
- Knowledge of API gateway technologies and enterprise integration patterns.
