Sodexo is looking for a reliable and caring Weekend Cook to join our team in Cork City. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking and takes pride in preparing fresh, nutritious and well-presented meals.

You'll play an important part in creating enjoyable mealtimes, preparing food to a high standard and ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly throughout the weekend.

What you'll do:
  • Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious and well-balanced meals to a consistently high standard
  • Follow menus and recipes while ensuring food is prepared and presented with care
  • Adapt to individual dietary requirements and ensure food is prepared safely and appropriately
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety
  • Ensure the kitchen, equipment and food preparation areas are kept clean, organised and ready for service
  • Monitor food levels and minimise waste through effective preparation and portion control
  • Work independently while also supporting the wider catering team when required
  • Help create a warm, welcoming and positive mealtime experience
  • Follow all Sodexo and client procedures and complete required food safety and hygiene checks

What you'll bring:
  • Previous experience cooking in a professional kitchen or catering environment
  • A genuine passion for preparing good-quality food
  • Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen requirements
  • Ability to follow menus, recipes and established procedures
  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • A reliable, responsible and flexible approach to your work
  • Ability to work independently and take pride in maintaining high standards
  • A friendly and respectful approach, with a focus on providing a positive experience for those you are cooking for
