Job Description

Role Overview

As a Food and Beverage Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of Landline Restaurant and The Garden Rooms, ensuring the highest level of service delivery in line with our standards of a five-star, Relais & Chateaux property. You will lead and motivate the team, ensure smooth service and deliver an exceptional guest experience across breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea and special events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of The Garden Rooms and Bar, ensuring smooth and professional service at all times.
  • Lead and motivate the food and beverage team to deliver warm, engaging and attentive guest experiences across lunch, dinner, cocktails, private events and drinks service.
  • Take ownership of cocktail planning and seasonal beverage development, creating innovative and guest-focused drinks menus in line with the Park Hotel Kenmare brand.
  • Conduct ongoing product research and development with a focus on premium whiskeys, Irish spirits, seasonal cocktails, and locally sourced ingredients.
  • Work closely with management and suppliers to introduce new beverage offerings, trends and elevated guest experiences.
  • Support the development and implementation of bar SOPs to continuously improve service standards, efficiency and consistency.
  • Oversee all opening and closing procedures, ensuring operational readiness and high presentation standards seven days per week.
  • Ensure all mise-en-place, cleanliness and presentation standards are maintained throughout the bar, Garden Rooms, prep areas and stockrooms.
  • Monitor stock control and rotation procedures using industry best practices, including FIFO, and support accurate ordering and inventory management.
  • Train, coach and develop junior and existing team members in beverage knowledge, cocktail preparation, whiskey service standards and guest engagement.
  • Liaise closely with the restaurant and kitchen teams to ensure seamless drinks and food service throughout all guest touchpoints.
  • Manage Tablepath bookings, guest requests and special occasions with professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Support the planning and coordination of drinks receptions, private events and seasonal activations within The Garden Rooms and wider hotel operations.
  • Monitor guest feedback and resolve any issues efficiently and professionally, ensuring a consistently high standard of hospitality.
  • Maintain a flexible approach to rostering and operational requirements, including evenings, weekends and peak trading periods.
  • Uphold the ethos, standards and luxury hospitality experience associated with Park Hotel Kenmare and Relais & Chateaux in every guest interaction.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a four or five-star hospitality environment preferred but is not essential as all training will be provided.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of food and beverage service, fine dining etiquette, and industry trends.

  • Wine knowledge is a definite bonus.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to manage a diverse team and foster a positive work environment.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
