Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Assistant within School of Earth Sciences.
The School of Earth Sciences in UCD is a global leader in research on base metal deposits in sedimentary basins. This one-year research assistant will support the raw materials research being carried out in the in the School of Earth Sciences.
The research assistant will be primarily responsible for the day to day running of (1) a Bruker M4 Tornado+ microXRF machine for analysis of thin section, core and hand samples, and (2) our Multi Sensor Core Logger instrument, a Geotek MSCL-S which scans various sizes of drill core: this will be installed in Q4 2026. This position will be key part of the large team working on deposits in Ireland and globally in the School of Earth Sciences.
Research Assistant Salary: €34,129 - €36,272 per annum..
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
