Job Description

Are you an experienced Site Quality Assurance Manager with a strong track record in delivering quality assurance and control on major infrastructure projects? You will lead quality management activities across nationally significant D&B infrastructure projects in Ireland including metro, aviation, rail, water and highway schemes, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with specifications, standards and project requirements.

Your new role
As Site Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and quality control activities on major infrastructure projects in Ireland. You will ensure that construction works are delivered in compliance with design, specifications, and regulatory requirements, while promoting a culture of quality across all site activities.

You will work closely with contractors, engineers and project teams to implement robust QA/QC processes, ensuring that quality risks are identified, managed and mitigated throughout the construction lifecycle.

Working pattern
This is a predominantly site-based role, with a majority of projects delivered in and around Dublin.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Leading the development and implementation of project quality assurance and quality control systems on site

  • Ensuring compliance with project specifications, standards, procedures and regulatory requirements

  • Monitoring contractor quality performance through inspections, audits and surveillance activities

  • Reviewing and approving Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements and quality documentation

  • Managing non-conformances, defects and corrective actions to ensure effective resolution

  • Supporting inspection, testing and commissioning activities to verify compliance with requirements

  • Coordinating quality records, documentation and handover deliverables

  • Providing quality assurance advice and guidance to project teams and contractors

  • Identifying quality risks and supporting mitigation strategies throughout delivery

  • Promoting a culture of quality, right-first-time delivery and continuous improvement

  • Supporting reporting and governance processes related to quality performance

  • Liaising with stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality expectations and requirements

About you

  • Significant experience in quality assurance and quality control roles on major infrastructure or construction projects (e.g. metro, aviation, rail, water and highways schemes)

  • Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, standards and best practice in construction environments

  • Experience working with contractors to monitor and improve quality performance on site

  • Familiarity with inspection, testing, commissioning and handover processes

  • Ability to review technical documentation, drawings and specifications in detail

  • Experience managing non-conformances, defects and corrective actions

  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving approach

  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Experience implementing quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001)

  • Knowledge and experience of NEC4 Contract suite, and commercial awareness

  • Proactive and organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic site environment

  • Degree in engineering, construction or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)

  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CQI, Engineers Ireland, ICE, or equivalent) or working towards accreditation
