What's the Role?
The ESG Ratings Operations Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the data and technology processes and controls needed for the production of ESG ratings. The ESG ratings Operations Officer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations for issuing regulated ESG ratings, ensuring data accuracy, traceability, availability, reliability, and security in compliance with regulatory requirements. The ESG Ratings Operations Officer is responsible for monitoring key outsourcing agreements and timely delivery, quality controls on ESG ratings products, maintaining operational documentation and providing ongoing reporting and transparency to senior management.
We'll Trust you to:
• Understand the entity's data and technological needs and develop and manage the entity's data and technological requirements and roadmap for the production and maintenance of ESG ratings
• Responsible for coordination with and monitoring service providers for data and technology services, enhancements and changes
• Oversee the development and maintenance of key data and technology platforms
• Monitor and research new technologies to assess their impact on ESG ratings models, methodologies and processes
• Provide reliable technical assessments of IT systems and processes used for the issuance of ESG ratings and ensure the security of relevant IT systems
• Define and coordinate development activities for data and IT functionality, tools and systems
• Update the management team on the overall effectiveness of the processes, data and IT systems and the operation and effectiveness of the entity's information data and technology infrastructure
• Provide recommendations for new systems, processes and technology strategies
• Responsible for maintaining records / audit trails for the full product lifecycle for ESG rating products
You'll need to have:
• At least 7 years of relevant data and technology industry experience. Experience in ESG data or ratings is preferred but not essential
• Ability to effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems pertaining to data infrastructures, systems and processes
• Ability to evaluate and make recommendations regarding ESG ratings production and maintenance, or experience with similar product processes
• Ability to translate complex technical terminology, concepts and issues in terms understandable to technical and non-technical management and staff
• Familiarity with regulatory and industry issues and trends that could influence/impact the entity's business goals
• Comfortable working with large, complex data sets and applying statistical approaches to identifying data errors and anomalies
• Proven project management skills
• Detail oriented
• Team player with high ethical standards
• Proven ability to effectively collaborate with other data and technology teams
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) required
