What is the purpose of this job?
The role of Assistant Leader in the Health Insurance Department is to support the management team to deliver budget and revenue targets. They achieve this by working with the Team Leaders and Call Centre Manager (CCM) to support a culture of performance excellence. The Assistant Team Leader support the TL and CCM with sales training and coaching. The Assistant Team leader has responsibility delivery of adherence of practices and behaviours, coaching sessions, feedback sessions in onboarding of new staff and stepping into TL role at required times throughout the year.
What this Job is expected to Do
To comply with risk control and regulatory requirements that is relevant to this role, e.g. support TL with managing complaints in line with company policy.
Support TL and CCM in supervising the day-to-day operational activities of the team or section to ensure all daily productivity targets are met.
Support TL CCM for motivating the team or section to achieve and exceed monthly targets through feedback sessions, team meetings and coaching sessions.
Support TL CCM driving sales best practice, excellence in customer service and high levels of quality through call assessments, agent feedback and agent coaching sessions.
The Assistant Team Leader is expected to deliver targets for his/her team or section as set out by the call centre manager.
Maintain commercial awareness relevant to this role
The level of Knowledge / Skills / Experience required for the role
APA in Private Medical Insurance required upon commencement in the role
Knowledge of risk control regulatory environment
Commercial awareness of their team / sections performance relative to the departments’ targets.
Dealing with customer escalations and ensuring prompt resolution.
Working as a leader of the Management team to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the wider team.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong drive to succeed in a sales environment
The Assistant Team Leader always leads by example and demonstrates and emulates a Customer First approach in line with Cornmarket’s values.
The Assistant Team Leader would represent the Health Insurance Department in a positive manner when liaising with other departments within Cornmarket.
The Assistant Team Leader supports the TL with any queries from insurance underwriters are dealt with in a prompt manner.
Communicating the company’s purpose, core values, vision to the front employees as set out by the call centre manager.
The size of the team will increase from October to April each year. The Assistant Team Leader will have to adapt to the requirements that this change in team size will involve.

Controlled Function
This role is a ‘controlled function’ as defined by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011. Any appointment will be conditional on the company being satisfied that the appointee meets the requirements as set out in the Fitness and Probity standards issued by the Central Bank. This requires the company to complete prescribed due diligence to assess the appointee’s fitness and probity.
