* This is a full-time permanent position, based in our Ireland office. We operate on a hybrid working arrangement and require a minimum of 2 days in the office. Overview:
Fifty5Blue has been awarded the contract to deliver the Television Audience Measurement service in the Republic of Ireland from January 2028. As part of this, we will build a new panel to measure television consumption across the Republic of Ireland, using our state-of-the-art metering technology and backend systems to deliver high-quality, accurate data to the industry every day.
The Broadcast Technician will be handling day to day data processing across multiple systems; including Cloud-hosted and remotely-hosted on-prem services. A level of bash scripting and scheduling is critical. They will need to engage with cross-functional teams who will be expecting daily reports on the delivery of files, parameter-changes, and performance levels on systems. A good knowledge of cloud native technologies such as Kubernetes, terraform etc is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring and updating Reference sites, with particular focus on changes to linear TV channels
- Monitoring data processing through all stages of the production cycle.
- Installing/testing new bespoke software releases to ensure any issues are identified before Production deployment
- Liaising closely with Applications Development and Support teams to identify any production bottlenecks or upgrades that will feed into the refresh cycle
- Managing and maintaining Kubernetes clusters
- Testing changes to configurations and system changes to non-production servers.
- Implementing alerting systems to help with monitoring of various systems
- Troubleshooting various network and infrastructure related issues in Azure cloud services and Linux systems
- Working with the wider Fifty5Blue team to ensure SLA's and project deadlines are met
Required Skills & Experience
- Communication - excellent relationship building and communication skills with internal stakeholders and panel members
- Willingness to learn new cloud related technologies whilst managing day-to-day tasks
- Collaboration - proactive and strong self-motivated team player who is happy to lend a hand when needed
- Problem solving - ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstratable experience of working to deadlines
- Attention to detail - candidate must have an eye for small changes so to help identify mistakes
- Independent in managing workloads to the extent of using one's own initiative to progress fundamental projects
- Ability to multitask with a flexible attitude to work
- Candidate should have interpersonal skills as they will be engaged with various teams - hence, emotional intelligence is welcomed
