Senior Manager of Governance & Compliance

Embrace Community Services Ltd.
Dublin, IE Full Time
Reference: 210312

About Us:

Embrace is an Irish, family-owned provider of support services for people with intellectual disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder and acquired brain injuries. Our service is based around our five core values of Energy, Kindness, Empowerment, Quality and Happiness. These values underpin our strengths-based and person-centred approach, which together form the ethos of our service.

The Role:

We are recruiting a Senior Manager of Governance and Compliance for a national role covering our services across Ireland. We are seeking applications from experienced governance and compliance professionals who have a passion for quality assurance and a commitment to safe, person-centred care. This is a highly visible senior leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, and the successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring Embrace's services are safe, compliant and continuously improving.

This is a nationwide role and will require regular travel to Embrace services across Ireland. Embrace Community Services provides residential and support services for children and adults with disabilities, regulated by HIQA and operating to national standards across designated centres throughout Ireland.

  • You will lead the internal audit programme, oversee regulatory readiness and drive continuous improvement across adult and children's services — working closely with PICs, ADOSs and operational leaders on the ground.

  • You will conduct six-monthly service audits across all designated centres, undertake unannounced internal inspections and lead organisational responses to HIQA inspections and information requests.

  • You will maintain the organisational risk management framework, analyse trends in incidents and complaints, and lead root cause analysis reviews following serious incidents.

  • You will produce governance reports and dashboards for the Executive Team and Board, and deliver training and coaching to PICs, ADOSs and operational leaders on governance, audit and regulatory requirements.

  • As this is a national role, you will be required to travel regularly to Embrace services across Ireland and respond flexibly to inspections, safeguarding concerns and critical incidents as they arise.

What we offer to the successful candidate:

  • A competitive remuneration package with annual reviews / increments

  • Mileage allowance

  • Standard working week of Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm (apart from very occasional evening or weekend work)

  • Annual Leave allowance of 25 days per annum

  • Performance-related bonus

  • Refer A Friend Program - €150 per referral

  • Employment Assistance programme

  • Regular Supervision

  • Personal Retirement Savings Account

Your Profile and qualifications:

  • Third-level qualification in Nursing, Social Care, Healthcare Management, Quality Management or a related discipline

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in Governance, Quality Improvement, Audit, Risk Management or Leadership

  • Minimum seven years' senior leadership experience within health or social care

  • Minimum three years' experience leading quality, audit or compliance functions

  • Demonstrated experience managing HIQA inspections and regulatory engagement

  • Experience conducting audits, investigations and service reviews

  • Experience developing governance frameworks and quality improvement programmes

  • Extensive knowledge of HIQA regulations and national standards

  • Excellent analytical, report-writing and presentation skills

  • Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel nationally
