Duties and Responsibilities
As Leisure Centre Cleaner, your responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning and sanitising changing rooms, showers, toilets and communal areas.
- Cleaning floors, surfaces, mirrors, lockers and other leisure centre facilities.
- Ensuring high-touch areas are regularly cleaned and disinfected.
- Replenishing toiletries, cleaning products and other supplies as required.
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste safely and correctly.
- Completing scheduled deep-cleaning duties.
- Ensuring all cleaning equipment and products are used and stored safely.
- Identifying and reporting any maintenance, health and safety or security concerns.
- Following all hygiene, chemical-handling and health and safety procedures.
- Ensuring the leisure centre is presented to a high standard and ready for opening the following day.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be reliable, punctual and comfortable working late-night shifts.
- Have strong attention to detail and a commitment to high cleaning standards.
- Be able to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
- Have a positive, professional and helpful attitude.
- Be physically capable of completing cleaning duties, including lifting, bending and standing for extended periods.
- Have previous cleaning experience, ideally within a hotel, leisure centre, gym or similar environment, although full training can be provided.
- Be available to work from 9:30 p.m. until 2:00 a.m., typically four nights per week, including weekends where required.
