As a Senior Accounting & Reporting Specialist, you will lead end-to-end accounting, statutory reporting, and tax compliance for our UK and German legal entities-two of MathWorks' largest international markets. Based in Galway, Ireland, you will partner with local controllers, tax advisors, and global finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and compliance with local regulations.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in supporting some of MathWorks' largest markets while contributing to the continued growth of our Shared Sales and Services Centre.

• A recognized accounting qualification is required (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA)
• Experience in accounting and statutory reporting for multiple entities. UK and German entities preferred.
• Experience coordinating statutory audits and working with external tax advisors.
• Skilled at leveraging ERP capabilities and automating workflows; Oracle Cloud experience a plus.
• Excellent communication skills thriving in a multi-national, matrix work environment.
• Detail oriented, hands-on, and comfortable owning compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• High-tech industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for the UK and Germany, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure accurate statutory accounting under UK GAAP and German HGB.
- Provide a strong foundational accounting knowledge (informed by IFRS or US GAAP principles) to support group reporting in accordance with company-defined accounting policies.
- Maintain high quality financial records and resolve accounting issues proactively.
- Drive process improvements and automation to improve efficiency and data quality.
Statutory & Tax Compliance
- Prepare and coordinate statutory financial statements and audits for both entities. Work closely with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of new accounting standards and complex transactions.
- Own local tax compliance, including corporate tax, VAT, and statutory filings, in coordination with external advisors. Stay current with tax laws for both entities, proactively informing management of relevant changes.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or equivalent experience) is required.
