Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Structural Design Engineer with a minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience to join our growing engineering team in Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of structural systems and products used in data centers and other industrial applications.

Experience designing data center aisle containment systems, equipment support frames, caging systems, and related infrastructure is highly desirable. Candidates with equivalent experience designing steel-framed structures, sheet metal assemblies, modular industrial products, or fabricated structural systems are also encouraged to apply.

This position requires proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD design, along with a strong understanding of structural engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and product development practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop structural products, assemblies, and fabricated steel structures using
  • SolidWorks and CAD software.
  • Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, manufacturing documentation, and bills of
  • materials (BOMs).
  • Support the design and development of:
    • Data center aisle containment systems
    • Equipment support frames
    • Security caging systems
    • Structural support solutions
    • Custom customer-engineered products
  • Perform structural calculations and engineering analysis to validate designs.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, project management, and installation teams to
  • ensure designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Support prototype development, testing, and product validation activities.
  • Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, engineering standards, and customer
  • specifications.
  • Assist in resolving production and field installation issues through engineering support and
  • design modifications.
  • Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to develop practical engineering
  • solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Structural Engineering
    • Civil Engineering
    • Product Design Engineering
    • Or a related engineering discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of structural design experience in a manufacturing, construction, industrial, or
  • engineered products environment.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and 2D CAD software.
  • Experience creating detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
  • Understanding of structural analysis, materials, and fabrication methods.
  • Knowledge of steel structures, sheet metal design, welded assemblies, and bolted
  • connections.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland.


  • Experience designing:
    • Data center aisle containment systems
    • Data center infrastructure products
    • Equipment support structures
    • Security cages and partitions
    • Modular steel-framed systems
  • Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Experience working with fabrication shops and manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of Eurocodes and relevant structural design standards.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
  • principles.
  • Experience within the data center, telecommunications, critical infrastructure, or industrial equipment
