Purpose of the Post
The CNM2 Clinical Skills Facilitator will:
Assist in supporting registered nurses (PHNs, CRGNS, CNS and ANP) with developing of clinical skills and competencies in order to fulfil their professional roles
and responsibilities in an ever-changing health environment. Support the development of preceptorship skills of all nurses Provide clinical support, and induction to all registered nurses working within the PHN service. Support the implementation of the enhanced community care model and the associated specialist nursing posts Ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, coordinated, services to the population of the network. This will be provided in accordance with legislative
and service delivery frameworks and requirements, within the resources allocated. Work with other disciplines to co-ordinate the integration of community healthcare services within the Network in response to the needs
and requirements of the population & the requirement to deliver services.
Details of Service
The Public Health Nursing Service is a generalist nursing service underpinned by the principles and values of primary care and public health,
including those of equity, accountability and evidence-based nursing care, working to public policy agenda and reform.
The Public Health Nursing (PHN) Service is delivered by registered public health nurses and registered general nurses/registered midwives, and is a major provider of nursing care in the community.
Services are provided at the level of the individual, the family and the broader community and in addition to delivering personalised care to individuals,
account is taken of the collective health, well-being, social and nursing care needs of the population.
The service is delivered within a range of settings: in the home, health centres, schools and in a variety of community settings.
As pivotal team members, Public Health Nursing staff work in collaboration and partnership with other members of the primary care team
and also with acute / community hospital services, voluntary bodies and statutory and non-statutory agencies.

(a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
(i) Are registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwivesmaintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (BordAltranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann) or entitled to be so registered.
And
(ii) Have at least 5 years post registration experience (or an aggregate of 5 yearsfulltime post registration experience) of which 2 years must be in the specialityor related area.And(iii) Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly dischargethe functions of the role.And(iv) Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.And(v) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard ofsuitability and clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge thefunctions of the role.
Annual registration(i) On appointment, practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the relevantdivision of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing andMidwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann).And(ii) Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual PatientSafety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
HealthCandidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable ofundertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
CharacterCandidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character.

Access to transport Demonstrates experience of clinical teaching in the clinical environment
