Site Development Engineer

Roughan & O'Donovan (ROD) is looking to recruit a site development engineer with three to seven years' relevant experience for a permanent position within our expanding buildings team.

About the role

You will be part of a team recognised for delivering high quality, cost-effective and sustainable building projects across a range of sectors, including residential, healthcare, education and commercial.

Your remit will be to design and coordinate all external works associated with our building projects.

  • Letterkenny Community Healthcare Facility
  • Ballyshannon Community Hospital
  • Convent Lands, Portlaoise, Co. Laois
  • Meakstown Sports Hall and Community Centre, Dublin 11
  • Domestic Violence Refuge, Co. Wexford
  • An Garrán, Tramore, Co. Waterford
  • Baile an Róigh, Rosslare, Co. Wexford
Essential
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent)
  • Site development design experience for building projects (access roads, car parks, drainage, water, SuDS)
  • Three to seven years' relevant experience and sector knowledge
  • Proven technical knowledge and engineering skills
  • Experience of designing drainage and water supply systems
  • Ability to produce quality design outputs
  • Flexible, motivated and focused
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent or highly proficient in spoken and written English
Desirable
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Proficiency in WinDes/Microdrainage
  • Experience in site level design
  • Experience in road design
  • Client-facing skills
  • Strong communications skills
  • Good MS Office skills
  • Membership of a professional body, such as Engineers Ireland or the Institution of Civil Engineers
