Our organisation: Dublin Simon Community has evolved over the last 52 years, as one of the most respected charities in the homelessness sector in Ireland. Its success over five decades has built strong working relationships with Government departments, Local Authorities and the Health Service Executive. It has attracted a wide range of donors and a strong team of volunteers. A team of 500 employees and 200 volunteers with a budget of over €30m, Dublin Simon Community provides safe, supportive, high-quality services to more than 8,000 people, through their care and professionalism.
The Role: Reporting to the CEO and working closely as part of the Executive Management Team, the Director of Homeless Services will provide strategic and operational leadership across Dublin Simon Community's crisis intervention, outreach, emergency accommodation and short-term community services.
This newly established Executive leadership role has been created to reflect the continued growth of Dublin Simon Community and the increasing complexity of homelessness services. Working closely with the CEO, Executive Management Team and Board, the successful candidate will shape organisational strategy, drive service transformation and strengthen partnerships across the homelessness, housing and health sectors.
The Director will lead a significant portfolio of services, providing executive oversight of service quality, governance, workforce planning, financial performance and strategic development while ensuring services remain safe, sustainable, person-centred and focused on achieving positive housing outcomes.
Performance will be reviewed against agreed strategic objectives, organisational scorecards, service quality, governance, financial performance, workforce effectiveness and the ability to lead through the values of Dublin Simon Community.
Skills & Qualifications/ The Person: The successful candidate will be an inspirational Executive leader with significant experience leading complex, multi-site services within homelessness, housing, health, social care or similarly regulated environments.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional strategic leadership, operational excellence and the ability to translate organisational strategy into high-performing services that deliver measurable outcomes. They will possess a proven track record of leading organisational change, driving continuous improvement and developing high-performing leadership teams.
An accomplished relationship builder, the successful candidate will have the credibility to influence senior stakeholders across Government Departments, Local Authorities, the HSE, funders and sector partners while representing Dublin Simon Community at Executive level.
The role requires outstanding leadership, governance and financial management capability together with a strong commitment to trauma-informed, person-centred practice and delivering sustainable, evidence-informed services for people experiencing homelessness.
