About the Role
The Property Officer is responsible for ensuring Housing First properties are ready, well managed, and sustainable for clients. The role oversees property readiness, tenancy related processes, and landlord coordination, while working closely with the Intake and ICM teams to ensure properties meet client needs. The Property Officer plays a key role in protecting tenancies, addressing issues promptly, and ensuring value for money for both clients and stakeholders.
Contract Type: full-time, permanent
Working Hours: 37.5 hours, 5-day liability (9am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday)
Location: Dublin City Centre
Salary:38,000-43,750 DOE
Role Responsibilities
As a Property Officer you will be working in a professional role and environment, core responsibilities include:
• Ensure Housing First units are fully prepared and ready for occupation.
• Manage property voids, including tracking availability and turnaround times.
• Coordinate utility set up and wind down for properties as required.
• Ensure value for money for clients and stakeholders across property related costs.
• Manage and respond to escalated complaints in person, where required.
• Submit rent payments accurately and on time to the appropriate landlords.
• Coordinate and oversee property clean ups, including hoarding related interventions.
• Attend and support tenancy warning or breach situations alongside the ICM team.
• Work collaboratively with the Intake and ICM team & Team Leader to ensure properties are suitable for individual client needs.
• Assist in the management of hardship funds, in consultation with ICM staff and Housing First management.
• Maintain effective relationships with landlords and external stakeholders to support tenancy sustainment.
• Ensure a high standard of customer service is provided and complaints are dealt with in an efficient and appropriate manor in accordance with policy and procedures.
• Ensure that all unsocial incidents in the estate are recorded and monitored as per the Dublin Simon Community's Good Neighbour and Anti Social Behaviour policies
• Process, communicate, and record all day-to-day reports on housing repairs/improvements/maintenance via the reporting system.
• Coordinate process to ensure voids/new lets, are let within agreed timeframes.
• Perform tasks related to the day to day running of an effective service including; carrying out health and safety, administrative and financial procedures in accordance with organisational policies.
• Support Dublin Simon Community management and service team in the implementation of the strategic and operational action plan.

Qualifications and Experience
• BA/BS degree. Ideally in, but not limited to, social care/science, addiction studies, business, property or legal studies.
• 2 years' professional experience.
• Experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external
• stakeholders.
• Accountable, client-driven, problem-solving individual with excellent communication
• skills.
• Knowledge of the social housing sector; legislation, renting, repairs and maintenance, property development, landlords, statutory and voluntary agencies.
